COVID-19 Situation!!

Following the outbreak of corona virus disease and the resulting crisis in travel, we are experiencing an unprecedented wave of cancellations of confirmed bookings in Uganda. We don’t know how long it will take to contain the virus, but the impact on our operations is huge already. This is a global case and we are not alone but thank God that Uganda is not yet very infected compared to the rest of the world. We however want to let you know that we at Churchill are very optimistic of the future and we strongly believe that all this will end. We are now focusing on maintaining a close relationship with you our partners, assuring you of continuing to offer you exceptional travel deals for the future as we get ready to lift off.

We are currently working remotely from our homes with just a limited Skelton staff in the office for the next couple of weeks just to make sure that there is social distancing. Our help lines are still open and the general email info@churchillsafaris.com.

In response to this pandemic, most accommodation suppliers have relaxed their policies governing cancellation and postponement of bookings. Churchill safaris will work closely with the suppliers to ensure a smooth management of the affected bookings. 


We are encouraging clients that had booked in the months of March, April, May and possibly June to just postpone their travel dates rather than cancelling as hotels are finding it very hard to offer any refunds to us. Because as  you might be aware, due to the scarcity of enough rooms, most of accommodation suppliers in the national parks, require payment in advance to confirm a booking. Churchill has in most cases, paid the deposits on behalf of our clients to secure their bookings without necessarily asking for advance payment. 

We also want to let you know that UWA has accepted to reschedule the gorilla permits up to a period of 2 years ending March 2022.

However, if you need to just cancel without postponing the permits, then they apply their cancellation policy as follows;

  • 0-8days – No refund
  • 9-45 days – 25% refund
  • 46-90 days – 50% refund
  • 91 days and more – 75% refund
