Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Entebbe. Uganda

On arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your representative from Churchill Tailored Safaris who will then transfer you to Entebbe for the overnight at Airport Link Guest House or Papyrus guest house

Day 2Entebbe-Gulu

Have breakfast and drive to Gulu with an option of passing via Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking.
The objective of creating the sanctuary was to save Uganda’s rhinos from complete extinction. Sight of black and white rhinos here is certainly going to delight the wildlife enthusiasts. This is a safari where you may remain just a few feet away from the rhinos. Later proceed to Gulu for the overnight at Churchill Courts Hotel.

Day 3Depart Gulu for Kidepo N. park

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to Kidepo passing via the Nyamata community for a visit which consists of warrior nomads. You will have a typical village experience as well as the cattle market. Later proceed to Kidepo valley national park arriving in the evening. Kidepo valley national park lies in the northern corner of Uganda with an unlimited profusion of game navigating the dirt game tracks that lead through the golden grasses of this Savannah park presents repeated opportunities to see around 475 bird species, some of the 77 mammal species including zebras, elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes and the cheetahs with an assurance of plenty of cape buffalo. Kidepo is the’’ True African Wilderness” Overnight at Nga Moru Wilderness camp.

Day 4Spend the day on game drives in Kidepo

Spend the day exploring the wonder that is Kidepo Valley. This park is truly a land of unspoiled beauty. We will spend the day doing game drives and to be seen are: Lions, cheetah, osterich elephants, giraffes, zebra as well as many antelope species inhabit these grasslands. Day 5Depart Kidepo for Gulu (5hours)

After an early morning breakfast, we will have a last game drive as a way to bid this wonderful park goodbye. Later we proceed to Gulu where you will overnight as way to cut the journey to Murchison Falls short. Overnight at the Churchill Courts hotel.

Day 6Kidepo-Murchison falls

Today, you will continue on your safari transferring to Murchison Falls national park arriving in the afternoon. Have a mini-game drive in the Northern part of the park and later transfer to your lodge.

Day 7In Murchison falls

This morning you will depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park returning later to the lodge for breakfast. The 3,893 sq km park is home to a range of animals, and you will have a chance of viewing some of the Park’s residents including lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. For the birders amongst you, these areas support the secretary bird and the black chested snake eagle, to name a few.

In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile thundersthrough a small 7 meter gap plunging 43meters into the Nile on the way to Lake Albert. The banks of the Nile are densely populated with crocodiles, hippopotamus, and a range of other wildlife that come to the river to drink. There is also the option of getting off the boat and hiking up the side of the falls to the top.(optional& not included in costs).

Other Optional activities in case of a lot of time:
Balloon safari: This can be arranged while in the park with the help of your guide at a cost of $380 per person.
Visit the BOOMU group of women: Boomu means together and this describes the purpose of the group: to work together for our mutual benefit and the benefit of community. Boomu Women’s Group is located 13 miles from Masindi on the edge of the Murchison Falls National Park; Uganda’s largest national park. Boomu is a member of the Ugandan Community Tourism Association (UCOTA). At Boomu, you have an opportunity to stay with people in the community and gain insight into their lives and the issues that affect them, experience life in rural Uganda and learn about how your stay will benefit them. They have a craft shop and also you can take part in crafting as they teach.
Sport Fishing: The banks of the Nile below Murchison Falls provide exciting challenges to anglers. Living within strong currents and highly oxygenated water is the Nile perch. There is the chance to land a massive catch – the record is 108kg! Fishing is permitted in designated sites and places and prior booking is recommended. Interested sport anglers are urged to bring their own equipment and secure a permit from UWA.
Bush breakfast: Breakfast in the wild! This experience can be organized should a client want it. Eat safely in the wild at an additional cost. Overnight Parkside Safari Lodge

Day 8Visit the top of the falls and then depart Murchison - Hoima

This morning, you will visit the incredible top of the falls after an early breakfast and later transfer to Hoima. You will be entertained with a local cultural dance in the evening at your lodge for stay for one night.

Day 9Depart Hoima for Kibale

This morning you will have breakfast and then proceed to Kibale forest for two nights. Kibale is home to an extraordinary thirteen species of primates, including chimpanzees, red colobus, and L’Hoest monkeys. Kibale National Forest has also recorded over 355 bird species, and a range of other mammals including the elusive forest elephant. Relax in the evening and prepare for the next day chimp tracking. Day 10Morning chimp tracking and afternoon optional bigodi swamp walk

This morning, you will go for chimp tracking and be part of the team that goes to study the behaviour of these primates in order to make them get used to human beings. Spend the whole morning in the forest returning to the lodge in time for lunch.
Later in the evening, you will have a guided walk through Bigodi Swamp. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is managed by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental organisation formed in 1992 with the aim of achieving social and economic development for local communities. This swamp is a home to approximately 137 bird species and its also rich in vegetation, such as wild palms, polita figs and the dominant papyrus.

Day 11Depart Kibale for Queen Elizabeth national park

Depart Kibale for Queen Elizabeth national park and go for a game drive and later a boat trip on Kazinga channel, approximately 2.5 hours drive. After breakfast, you will depart Kibale and then head for Queen Elizabeth National Park having a game drive while entering the park arriving in the mid afternoon. Have a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, home to one of the largest concentrations of hippopotamus, as well as herds of elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife that come to drink from the river. The Kazinga also attracts a tremendous variety of bird species including the African Eagle, Open-Billed Stork, and Pied Kingfishers.

Day 12Drive to Ishasha the southern part of Queen Elizabeth

Drive to Ishasha the southern part of Queen famed for the tree climbing lions. After breakfast, you will have a game drive as you depart Queen Elizabeth for the southern sector of Ishasha famed for the tree climbing lions arriving at the camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon go for an evening game drive.

Day 13Depart Ishasha for the southern part of Bwindi

After breakfast, you will have a game drive in search of the tree climbing lions and later depart Ishasha for Kisoro passing via Kabale with beautiful scenery of hills and valleys in between and terrace farming arriving Southern Bwindi in the evening.
You will need a good night’s rest to get ready for the following day’s gorilla tracking

Day 14Gorilla Tracking

This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for Gorilla tracking. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it is well worth the effort. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the afternoon relax at the lodge

Day 15Entebbe-Depart

Have breakfast and then proceed to Entebbe and later fly out in the evening. You will stop at the Equator-where you will be able to stand in both hemispheres simultaneously arriving in Entebbe in the early evening hours. You will arrive in Entebbe in time for check in for your onward flight back home or to your next destination.
