3 days/ 2nights Hermanus - Whale Route
Day 01 : Depart
from Cape Town in your rental car for your journey to Hermanus.
Overnight at the hotel of your choice on a bed & breakfast basis.
There is a vast choice in accommodation such as the luxury Marine
Hotel, Excellent Value Auberge Burgundy Guest House and for a different
experience Grootbos Nature Reserve.
Day 02 : Full day at leisure - between July and December you
will have the opportunity to view the whales in close proximity to
your hotel. Whale-watching where courting Southern Right Whales are
considered a wonderful omen and has given rise to a colorful "Whale
Festival", complete with town crier announcing sightings. White
bursts of spray signal that the whales are floating just below the
surface. Hermanus is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a Cape holiday.
Day 03 : Check out and return to Cape Town or
continue up the Garden Route.
Day 01 : Arrival at Port Elizabeth
Airport, collect your rental car and depart for your hotel
Day 02 : Depart Port Elizabeth and travel westwards through
Tsitsikamma and Plettenberg Bay to Knysna.
Day 03 : Day at leisure to enjoy sightseeing in the area- take
a trip in the Outeniqua Choo Tjoeo, take a ferry across Knysna Lagoon
to the heads.
Day 04 : Travel from Knysna to George and then over the Outeniqua
Pass to Oudtshoorn for overnight. In Oudtshoorn, enjoy a tour and
a meal at one of the various Ostrich farms in the area, or visit the
world famous Cango Caves.
Day 05 : Depart Oudtshoorn this morning and travel via Calitzdorp
and Barrydale to Cape Town.
SAFARIS
Safaris in South Africa offer guests every modern comfort while capturing
the romance of those old fashioned expeditions. The country has preserved
wide tracks of land for the sole purpose of conservation and here
guests can enjoy a range of safari experiences and close encounters
with animals in the wild.
Options include the Kruger National Park and its numerous self catering
camps on self drive or guided packages or neighbouring private game
reserves in 4X4 vehicles, exclusive accommodation, private game ranger
and a more intimate bush experience.
During the day the pastel colours of a bush sunrise and an early morning
game drive to try and spot game just before they settle down to rest
for the day. Sharp eyed trackers are expert at reading clues in this
ancient game of hide and seek, the adrenaline pumps and the challenge
is on. After dark with the aid of spotlights, trackers and rangers
follow the nocturnal animals, especially the big cats.
