Introduction:
AAR was started as a rescue and evacuation company back
in 1984 in Kenya only providing emergency services before
expanding it activities to healthcare services.
Emergency services have remained one of the core pertinent in AAR service provision. In Uganda, a number of deaths are increasingly attributed to serious accident or medical emergencies that could have otherwise been prevented had immediate professional medical attention had been availed.
In the event of medical emergency, members who subscribe to AAR’s emergency rescue service ( here in referred to ER membership), have access to AAR’s 24 hour emergency line as well as critical care ambulances which are speedily dispatched to your aid. On arrival, the AAR medical team diagnosis, stablise and, where necessary, transfer the patient to hospital for further specialized care.
The critical care ambulances are fully equipped to deal with emergency medical conditions. Medical equipment in the ambulances includes suction machines, oxygen, spinal immobilization equipment, laryngoscopes, intubations/resuscitation drugs, surgical equipment, airway maintenance equipment and defibrillators.
HF and VHF radios fitted in the ambulances enable the medical team to provide initial medical diagnosis to the AAR base. Where hospitalization is necessary this information is then relayed immediately to the hospital for admission arrangement.
